sometime i still dont know is why do stick shift cars waste less gas than auto? just bored and wondering

More gears lower rpm = less fuel being used

less frictional losses as well.

it takes less energy to operate a manual trannay than an auto.

the only thing i kinda new was the lower rpms that was the only thing i could think of

The other thing is that auto has no cluch, but tourck converter. Therefore most of the times trany is not hard linked to the engine. It means that engine turns more than main trany shaft does=more gas get wasted. When car reached stable speed than plates touch each other inside tourck converter. "In a nut shell"
