uh dude, not to be a huge ***- but most of us are here to help. after answering how to pass emissions 5000000000000000000 times, it gets old. People get offende because thery get flamed, if they searched they would prob figure out why the ca vs sr vs rb argument still goes on. seriously it gets old. but hey we are all pretty much nice guys, so if you wanna be the guy to post the same stuff every day or two for the next year or 3, go for it man. Its just easier to say SEARCH!

Not everybody gets flamed on for asking a question. Sometimes there are pretty good ones, but UnderPressure is right, if the thread has been answered 3247218 times over again, it grows tiresome. Using the SEARCH function will prevent any flaming from occuring. Plus, reading the "Stickys" help, they explain a lot about how NICO works.

When I first came to NICO a couple of months ago, I was determined to figure out what I needed to know about swapping an SR20DET into an S13. I spent a lot of time using the search button, and in my quest... noticed a lot of other people being told to use the SEARCH button. I decided that after getting what I needed from the forum, I would give back to it by answering people's questions with information that I, myself figured out with the SEARCH button.

So for the first few times that I saw a post from someone wanting to know what parts to get with their SR20 for the swap, or saw someone wanting to know the difference between various motorsets, clips, etc... I answered their questions. It felt good to help, and I didn't mind doing it.

Then I realized, no one really held my hand, and everyone helpfully pointed me in the direction to get what I needed (THE SEARCH BUTTON). I realized that I had myself, personally... after only being on the board a couple of months, answered the same question three times. That realization kind of irked me.

To put it in some perspective, imagine this. You live up the block from a major intersection. A couple of times a month, random people come and knock your door... asking how to get to the major intersection. You eventually realize a trend, so you put a huge sign near your front door with directions for these people, that they can use to get to the intersection. YET.... they keep knocking on the door. New people come up, they knock on the door and ask you where the intersection is... despite the fact that you made a sign, to show them. How long would it take before you get tired of explaining to each individual how to get there, get tired of drawing each individual a map on how to get there, and finally just say "F U C K IT!, point their lazy assess as the sign you made a year ago, and slam the door in their face?"

Yes, very true Phax. To begin with, you gotta kind of figure out that these forums are free for us, and they spend money to host this. Also, why do you think the forums doesn't delete the old posts? Because its like a book, you go back and read it from page one. You can't just read the last chapter of a book, go to school, and expect to right out a sensible book report from it. Then you try to ask a classmate what the book was about and receive a "no brainer" answer of NO because they spent a lot of time to read the book to get a good grade. Why give off your "hard earned" work efforts to someone who is just plain lazy for free?
