When I first came to NICO a couple of months ago, I was determined to figure out what I needed to know about swapping an SR20DET into an S13. I spent a lot of time using the search button, and in my quest... noticed a lot of other people being told to use the SEARCH button. I decided that after getting what I needed from the forum, I would give back to it by answering people's questions with information that I, myself figured out with the SEARCH button.
So for the first few times that I saw a post from someone wanting to know what parts to get with their SR20 for the swap, or saw someone wanting to know the difference between various motorsets, clips, etc... I answered their questions. It felt good to help, and I didn't mind doing it.
Then I realized, no one really held my hand, and everyone helpfully pointed me in the direction to get what I needed (THE SEARCH BUTTON). I realized that I had myself, personally... after only being on the board a couple of months, answered the same question three times. That realization kind of irked me.
To put it in some perspective, imagine this. You live up the block from a major intersection. A couple of times a month, random people come and knock your door... asking how to get to the major intersection. You eventually realize a trend, so you put a huge sign near your front door with directions for these people, that they can use to get to the intersection. YET.... they keep knocking on the door. New people come up, they knock on the door and ask you where the intersection is... despite the fact that you made a sign, to show them. How long would it take before you get tired of explaining to each individual how to get there, get tired of drawing each individual a map on how to get there, and finally just say "F U C K IT!, point their lazy assess as the sign you made a year ago, and slam the door in their face?"
