Curiosity just hit me today, rarely do you see nitrous in s-chasis... (or drifting in general) why is that? drag racers use it a lot, it's cheap to set up, and is usually advertised at 20-70hp gains... is it more complicated than it looks? Obviously you don't want to be fumbling with a n2o button on your steering wheel when you are spinning your wheel into a countersteer, but they have setups that automatically engage it after a pre-set rpm... maybe a dumb question... sorry if it is.

Yeah, I know who you are talking about... he seems pretty successful, so why no one else use N2o?

Most of the people on NICO prefer better alternatives for power gains. My moto has always been to prefer constant power adders, not something in a bottle that has the potential to cause serious damage to my motor.

Nitrous doesn't instantly break your motor just because your using it. Its usually because the user doesn't know what they are doing. Using nitrous is like using boost.. you need more fuel (if you don't have a wet system) and you need to retard timing for it too, and colder plugs, depending on the size of the shot. 75shot you don't need anything. 100+ shot you need tuning... fuel pump, some kind of computer to control fuel and timing etc... Remember more horsepower means you need to upgrade other things too, just like for boost.

Plus you can eliminate lag with nitrous... put a hobbs swith so when it hits a certain boost it will cut out. It works very well for this.

Had it in mine for a while. Didn't like having it run out. It runs different when full compared to when it's at half or close to empty. I want something that's always there on tap when I need it. I can name many more reasons why I didn't like it. The only good one was that it was cheap and added a lot of power for the money.

LOL. Maybe that could be the reason? Seriously nitrous can be tricky to tune compared to forced induction. The Boost Logic Supra (1900hp) has to use Nitrous for their burnout. For me personally, I'd rather have a big turbo and deal with the lag time than running nitrous all the time. The extra power gets very addictive so I figure why not do forced induction instead(infinite NOS Yo) .

I only know a few people that have run Nitrous on their 240's. Either spooling a big turbo or running it on a N/A setup. (Yes a N/A KA with a 175 shot ran like a low 11 1/4) .

In Formula D1 I know one guy that uses Nitrous from Japan. He has a AE86 Corolla that is gray and yellow pushing 350hp. Can't remember his name. Didn't know till he ripped his back bumper off a wall and went to the pits. There it was a BIG blue NOS bottle. I think he uses it off the line when doing tandem to get up to speed. Most of the other cars he was facing were heavy ( The NATS Supra,Lexus IS300) but were putting down close to 500-700hp.

If your rev0ing high anyways while drifting you might as well just have it boosted. It easier to tune and build and much less dangerous for you and your car. I guess the drawback is that its more expensive, but its worth it. Not only that but pressing a button while ripping your wheel off seems like a big distraction.
