Wondering if it is worth it to spring for slotted/drilled rotors over something like a performance non-slotted/drilled version (frozen rotors)? From what I saw on the board, trying to get slotted/drilled rotors resurfaced is next to impossible.

it seems like day to day the weight of our cars would chew through brake pads like crazy with slotted/drilled. Of course that is the flip side of vision blurring deceleration!

Stick with OEM. Frozen rotors may be your best alternative to OEM. I have read a lot of good things about them.

I went with slotted and drilled over OEM to try to combat the overheating that OEM experience causing the warping. I've had them on for about 4 months and 4k miles with no problem. I also went with low dust ceramic pads as well. They are a little more noisy than stock I am not sure if it is the rotors, pads, or the two in combination it's nothing bad or intolerable. I think it is all worth it in the trade off for warping from OEM and I do think it stops better than stock. My old ones were warped so bad when I got the car I really couldn't do a good comparison.

I got my drill & slotted brakes(rotors & pads) from Burtman 18 months ago and have been very happy.

have you checked your brake pads to see if they are getting "eaten" faster? Reading my statement sounds sarcastic, but I am actually just curious if in 18 months you already almost need new pads. This may make me want them if they don't need a ton more maintenance...

I've had my slotted/drilled rotors (Burtmann's) on since Oct '06, and just replaced the front pads over Labor Day. Don't know the exact mileage, but I average about 20K miles/year so figure about 40K. The pads were Ceramix from NAPA, and they still had some life left in them.Doesn't seem excessive to me, anyway..

slotted rotors=radness and enough braking for most ppl. Drilled rotors are for retards, cross drilled are more acceptable but still a little goofy. its like putting on a nomex suit and a helmet to go get a slurpee. I reccomend you start small and go for more juice if you feel like you need it later. You can always spend more next time, you can't unspend the wad you blew on a big brake kit. word

They are wearing about the same as OEM for me. Other owners may have different results.

I have a set of EBC slotted & dimpled rotors & red stuff pads waiting to be put on. Current OEM set is warped beyond funny.

In other Infiniti rides, this combination has been an outstanding performer for me with little dust. The only characteristic that's worth noting is the "whoosh" noise during braking and driving but I'm ok with that given the performance difference.
