* My budget is around $10,000 which is why I'm going with the G35, not the G37... unless I can find one for that

Looks good. I dont see why you shouldn't get it, I have a 04 g35 about to hit 163k miles. Never had a mechanical problem, window motors will probably go out at some point but not too expensive to fix.

I've heard that the G series' are very expensive to work on, (as in replacing stock parts.) Has anyone found that to be true?

I don't think the G is that expensive compared to any other import car. In my experience and what I've seen, most cars cost about the same amount to keep going. Typically speaking a japanese car like the G will cost more for replacement parts, but the parts tend to be of better quality and fail less. Parts on the Infiniti is pretty close to BMW, just for comparison. Even now, domestic car's parts prices aren't always way cheaper. For instance, I had a CTS-V a few years ago and it was probably more expensive to replace parts than on my G.

At this point the G35 is roughly 10 years old (give or take), so by today's standards they're not terribly complicated so anyone should be able to turn wrenches on it.

Honestly, I wouldn't pay a lot for low miles, these cars are really solid and you could probably get something newer for the same price. I sold my 07 6MT sedan for 9k with 112k miles on it, and it ran/drove 100% perfect.
