Hey guys, newbie here. I'm considering getting a M35 as my next car. I never owned an Infiniti car so I'm pretty much new. I'm coming from the Honda line and currently driving a Civic.

Can someone tell me the pros and cons about the car from personal experience? Also people have been telling me that Infiniti is very expensive to maintain.....is that true? Lastly, I'm 6'4 btw...so would this be a good fit for my height?

Thanks!

I've owned BMW's, Lexus, Honda, and American. My '08 M35 is by far the best car I've ever owned. Especially for the money. Fit and finish is excellent. Interior is very plush, leather is nicest quality I've had. Handling is excellent as is accelleration. Before I bought my M I test drove the new Lexus LS. It floated on the road, very little feedback. The M rides very nice but you feel the drive.Just go buy it!!

Hey tallboy, welcome to the forum from a "taller" boy (6'5" and 265lbs). I have a 2008 M35 Sport. I have plenty of room in the car, both leg room and shoulder room. Even with the front seat all the way back there is still a respectable amount of rear seat leg room.

Maintenance costs depends on a lot of things. What are you talking about specifically? Are you buying it new or pre-owned. Scheduled maintenance is going to cost you more than a honda if you have the dealer perform it. Oil changes are about $50-60 at the dealership and the 15, 30, 45, 60K mileage scheduled maintenance all cost roughly $600 each at the dealership. Warranty is 4years / 60K miles bumper to bumper. Drivetrain is 7 years / 100K. If you buy pre-owned invest in an Infiniti Elite Warranty. Repairs on these cars can be expensive with all the electronics, but not out of line with any other premium vehicle in their class, in fact they might be a bit less expensive...but if you're used to repairs on a Honda, you may be in for a shock if you don't have an extended warranty.

In general, any V-6 powered car, particularly one that is deemed a near-luxury car will be more expensive than a four cylinder compact or sub-compact economy car. Your insurance will be higher, and the gas mileage will be lower than the Civic. Tires and parts will be more expensive, etc.

My wife drives an Acura CL - an early 1997 2.2 liter four-cylinder (similar to the Honda Accord EX of that same era) and it is less cost to maintain than my current 2003 M45. I'd say that the cost ratio is about double per year ...

Now, as to whether you should or should not get the M35, is really your personal decision for sure. It is a fun, very sporty, relatively high-powered luxury sedan - quite a different experience from a smaller economy car.

If you can afford one, then go for it. If not, then I would advise against it.

I'm buying it pre-owned. I take my Honda for oil changes at the dealership and its around $38. I'm not real worried about the maintenance, I'm a real careful driver and always on time when it comes to regular check-ups, tune ups, oil changes etc.

I'm 6'4" and my sons are 6'7" and 6'8" and they can drive the car comfortably, or at least more comfortable than most cars. They can actually fit in the back seat when I'm driving, but I do move the seat up a little more than I normally would. I've been driving BMW's for years and I absolutely love this car! I'm a new owner so I can't speak about maintenance costs, but Car and Driver got it right when it picked this car on top in it's comparo's of luxury sedans.

The M is a "luxury sports sedan." The word "luxury" can mean a lot of things to a lot of people. I don't relate such a word w/cheap. Hence, she isn't. However, the more time you spend @ an Infiniti (not cheap) dealer, the more $$$ it will cost. If a dealer for routine maintenance is what you want you can go to a Nissan dealer (not cheap-but less expensive).

If money is an issue-you are young w/a family etc., etc.-your money would be better spent on your family (but then you knew that already...).

If not, then take the advice in the other posts above and ggggoooooooooo for it!!!

Welcome to the M35 family(soon).I am 6'3" and bought the car because of the room and fit. The G35 sedan was faster, but cramped. Go with the M!
