First off, I swear Im outta my mind sometimes... I know I shouldnt drive the Q badly, but since ive fixed the suspension and got it running properly, I felt the need to "sin" and give the chassis a workout.. I had been driving the 87 300ZX turbo lately.. leaving that 40 series rubber on every corner I went around... Just because.. Guess I slipped into old habits.. Maybe the weather? I don't know.. But driving a Z with all urathane bushings, stiff springs and dampners is hell on your body.. Im old.. But its great for fun, im not THAT old

So I drove the Q today.. Man its smooth!!

I'm coming home from work and I thought.. Hmmmm.. I wonder if... Ah screw it.. I came up to make a left onto a 4 lane road.. No traffic , went to the outer lane, signaled left.. picked up the speed, hit the sport button, turned off traction control, stab the brakes real late, Grab first.. flick it into the corner, grab some oppisite lock and stamp it (vtc engauges) cars bouncing off the rev limit limit as I pass the apex.. Balance it.. .. Carefull.. Nice, smooth, and predictable... Impressive for a large car I think in my head as I Drift across the intersection.. Just to see an SAPD coming towards me. Be braked hard..

WE MADE EYE CONTACT. He pointed at me.. Looked pissed as hell!!! I let off immediately... rolled 10 below for a bit, awaiting my doom in the rearview.. He let off the brake and continued on...

If I had been driving the Z, they would of jailed me or something...

Just luck??

Or the fact that its a Q45?

I almost always disengage the TCS when I start the FGY33 in the dry. Wife asks why, I just smile.

Even police officers know a big Q45 can't do that type of turn.

Oh hell, I know exactly what you mean. I drove my warmed over '89 camaro for a bit and got ticket after ticket. It was absolutely nuts. I'd have cops ahead of me pull off to the side of the road, let me pass, and then follow me. Once, I even slowed down to 40mph when cop did this. He followed me the whole 6-7 miles to my girlfriend's house (55mph highway) going 40mph!Then, I get the '92 Q going, drive it just like I drove the camaro, and I've had only 1 ticket in the last 3 years. I slid the back end around for fun while doing a turn in town only to see a cop waiting to pull onto that same road only about 20 yards away. He didn't do anything. Didn't flash is lights... nothing. And he had to have seen it. He probably figured I was some old guy and that I probably **** my pants just then (it was night). Last weekend I came over a hill going 73-75mph on a 55mph two lane road. Met a sheriff's car. I hit my brakes and got it down to a little above 60 as he went by me. He was only a second away from me as I was going 70+. He didn't even tap his brakes. It's times like this that I think hot rodding a Q while keeping the stock pie pan wheels and quiet exhaust is the only way to fly. Well, that and a scanner and Valentine1 to round out the package.

No tickets [or stops] in 17 years and 317k of Q ownership, it emits secret Japanese invisability waves of energy from the hood buckle and rear logo. The polished pie pans take care of side views.

Funny thing is I got stopped 2 weeks ago in my latest Q.

Not registered, yetTags off another car.No proof of insurance, but I had the note I made when I called. He "paced" me doing 78 in a 65.

Verbal warning, once he ran my license and I had no warrants, etc.

But I am very polite when stopped.

Its true I just got my Q has new pa tags but has not yet been inspected i havent even had a cop look at me twice the oter day i pulled out of my driveway and gave the gas a good push, just as i hit second i noticed a cop sitting in an alley about 15 yards ahead of me i Know he saw me and had to hear me. Accelerating like that speeding and no inspetion sticker and i got nothing but a wave. I have been very easy (for me ) on the Q since it doesnt have he inspec sticker on it but once it does i will drive it like all other cars. Cars are made to be driven whether is a truck, sports car or vip style ride like the Q, you should Crusie when you need an get on it when you want to. You dont have to go 110% all the time but you should do it when you feel like it . Driving is a great pleasure and when you have the chance to push a car go for it ..... be safe dont push it above your limit as a driver or above the limit of the car altho in most cases the driver will be above hs/her limit first

One of my greatest pleasures is making eye contact with someone at a red light. As soon as it turn green, i hit the gas, by the time I'm at 40MPH, this guy is like just gettingoff the line. I love it. Just wait till I get my TCU and ECU in.

*Laughs maniacally*

Ha Ha. That is funny because the other night I pulled out from a local store just as 2 idiots were playing "switch" (there have been 2 recent crashes in town from people playing "switch") in the middle of the road. I swerved and barely missed them. So I started chasing them they tried to ditch me for a while and finally gave up. When I was done I went driving home happily when an officer started following me. He pulled me over in my driveway and told me that I had ran 7 stop signs and my car wasn't licensed. 2 other cops followed him. He said that I was called in by 6 different people. Than he proceeded to give me a warning and let me off. It must just be a q thing.

What is switch?

I've had one experience where I was doing about 80 on new 245/45/18 Z rated rubber with the Q. 80 in a 35 on a winding country road at 11:30PM. Sheriff said he tried to follow me for a couple of miles but couldn't get to triple digits like I was coming out of turns. Then he said don't let us catch you again, have a nice day. I'm pretty sure he was just flat-out impressed.

Yeah. What's "Switch"? Never played it. Then again, none of my friends can play car games with me. Too fast for em.

I thought "switch" was universally known. Switch is game where 2 cars are going down the road opposite directions, the 2 cars switch lanes just as they pass eachother so that they are on the wrong side of the road as they go by eachother. If one of the drivers doesn't catch on to what is happening than they will just think that the other driver is just playing chicken and they will have a head on. And if one is playing chicken and the other thinks they are playing switch than they will also have a head on. 4 pickup trucks were totaled from doing that recently. So, I was behind one of the cars playing switch and they other car was in my lane heading right toward me so i had to swerve to avoid a head on. It's a pretty dumb game to play with nice cars unless you have good communication.

Well, it is quite common around here, this place is known for it's crazy drivers. They even call the local highway the Creek500 like it's a raceway. So I fit right in with my Q.
