well...

I always see s13 sr20det black/red tops into s13... but I know s14 sr20det can be easily customed to fit into s13... but I don't see it done often... actually at all.

Is there a reason behind this? I mean s14 route seems better. varariable valve timing, better turbine... so I Don't see why not...

S14 motors are usually more money arent they? Also isn't there custom wiring required?

isn't it only alittle bit more?

a s13 black top is around... 2750 give or take 150a s14 notch top is around... 3500 give or take 150

labor is around 1500 so that's 4250 vs 5000 for a better engine

there are some more hidden charge I didn;'t mention, I know... price courtesy of phase2motor and srswap.com

yes. but the S14 SR had the Low Port design in the intake runners. the S13 SR had a High Port design which will yield more power when you build the engine up. So get a red top with a S14 turbo.and the whole point about the mileage is moot, because in japan the cars are stopped at about 50-60K miles no matter what year they are because of that older car tax they have over there.

Damn, if that is the case, mechanics must not exist. No wonder tuning is big.

what if I don't want to build the motor? what if the most I want to do is bov and fmic upgrade? isn't vvt a postive aspect?

uh, well if you're just being a ***** about it then maybe...the S14 motor is much more expensive...i think it's around 1.2k more or so usually...but i donno...lol the ***** comment was a joke...and still...the S13 motor will yeild more power w/ the S14 t28...

PS the T28 is larger then the stock journal bearing T25 on S13 motors

yeah and japanese mechanics all moved to the US! what ever smart a$$! I didnt say all the freakin cars go to the junkyard... just alot. there are plenty of people on this forum who know how old cars are phased out over there, and i havn't heard of many cases where the mileage is much different when you get an s13 compared to s14. the only engine you are sure to get low miles on is an s15!

damn... and I been thinking about the s14 sr20det.....

okay okay let's rethink this....

how hard is it to replace the t25 turbo with t28? is it a direct bolt on replacement?

what else is needed to run t28 on a stock s13 sr20det? do I need better injectors?

hi, I know it can be done

but I am trying to know why NOT other the than the obvious cost

so far I have gathered s13 sr20det have 1) high port design: good 2) cheaper: goodand that s14 sr20det 1) low port design: bad 2) more expensive: bad 3) have vvt: good

... and that milage won't be an issue

for a stock swap, I have gathered that it will be

5000$ for a s14 sr20det4200$ for a s13 sr20det black top

both price is after labor, that's including hybrid harness and AC modification if needed from phase2

to make swap the s13's t25 to t28 it woulc cost me another 300 to 500 which come out to be 4700$

am I wrong? please do correct me if I Am wrong! it's lots of money and I want to plan it right. I have about 4500$ right now so I am almost ready for the swap
