In Japan and elsewhere, the G is sold as a Nissan Skyline.

I thought it was to reduce weight and increase fuel economy.

I'm actually thinking of rebadging mine as a Nissan. Two reasons, one it will be different, two, there is an Infiniti that rolls around with the Infiniti emblem, and a "skyline" badge underneath. THAT is gay. Go all the way, or don't go...

I agree...waist of money. If you want to be different, throw on FI or at least a set of rims!

Yeah but the smart people know that all of the parts on our car are stamped NISSAN not Infiniti.

I don't see how that is even relevant. Maybe just because you have already switched to Nissan badges? If you want a nissan go buy a 350z or a altima coupe.

All manufactures reuse parts. It saves money. I don't see people taking a lexus and putting a toyota badge on it. Some reason only acuras and infinitis want to go back to their non luxary brand.

Just like infiniti - Lexus are built with Toyota stamped parts.

For the record - I haven't switched my Infiniti emblem for a Nissan emblem. Although I have considered switching the Infiniti letters for Skyline but keeping the infiniti emblem. I doubt I would ever put a Nissan badge on the OUTSIDE of my car.

The Nissan skyline is legendary car in Japan, the car's history pre-dates Infiniti.

Rebadging a G35 to a Nissan is a lot different to rebadging say, a Lexus IS250 to a Toyota, because the IS250 is only ever sold as a Lexus. If it exisited elsewhere as a Toyota, then there'd be some merit for it.

I think the thing most people here forget (or just do not know) is that the G35 is actually just a re-badged car for the USDM market, its still essentially the same as the Nissan JDM conterpart, except for LHD. There are no major differences that make it a 'new model'

As I've said before, the G35 was a Skyline before it was a G35 (2002 model year the US did not get, for the sedan). But I'm biased so you know...

Anyway, 350Z seats are much more comfy for my a$$.....only reason why I don't have a G coupe now. Don't knowwho you thought you might have pi$$ed off, but have enjoyed your posts. They are sound.

Thank you.

I should have gotten a 350z. I'm too rough on my poor little 4 seater.

I have G35, and the reason I bought it is because it's the Nissan Skyline. For a Japanese guy like me, Skylike has a special meaning. Like say a Mustang to SVTCOBRA!!

Infiniti is a Nissan. G35 is sold as Nissan Skyline, M35 and 45 as Nissan Fuga. It is another way to charge more.

My car says G35, but to me, it is a Skyline. I may not rebadge it, but I call it my Skyline. I consider myself not an Infiniti owner, but a Nissan owner.

About rebadging, I do not like it, either. I thought about putting Nissan Skyline 350GT on it, but decided not to. Because my car is LHD...

Exactly how I feel. I always wanted a Skyline, but didn't want the legal hassles and cost of importation. So I got the G.
