When I purchased my M35X in July of '09 I was sure the CarFax said I had 11 months of BW left, but when I called the local dealer about my seat rails, they said 'No, the BW expired 12/29/09'. I was sulking for the whole day and still fairly ticked and I can't find the CarFax and accounts at CarFax expire after 60 days.

Anyway...

Is the seat rail replacement thing even feasable for a fairly compentant person?

I'm surprised Infiniti doesn't cover this even after warranty expiration.

A freely moving seat while braking/turning/cornering is a HAZARD!!

Can you imagine if your seat moves during emergency braking and all of a sudden your foot slips off the pedal because your entire body is shifting forward?

What is the overall integrity of a loose seat? If you're in a hard hitting accident, is the seat more likely to buckle and shift even more? Are you at greater risk for injury from the accident or improper airbag deployment as a result?

It sounds to me like a Toyota mindset in play. "It costs too much too fix, so let's not do anything about it."

I know seatbelts have a lifetime warranty, and so should this.

My $0.02

There should be a way to complain to Infiniti with these concerns.

I have an 06 with 64k on it and my seat moves under hard acceleration, I'm sure i'm out of warranty however my dealer changed a fan relay or something related to the fan under a recall, can't they change the seat rail to under this TSB or is that different than a recall.

I'm having same problem on my M37 2012 which is a damn shame because the car is a CPO (owned for almost 4 month).
Apperently it's common on Infiniti cars? :wtf2: can somebody confirm?
Dealership will not do a damn thing about it even after tech verifying the problem.
