Why is Private Messaging disabled?

I just wanted to know if anyone knew why this was. Is it just a short-term thing that's caused by the site update? Or have I just attracted the rage of a moderator somehow? Mine has been saying it's been disabled by the moderator for a couple weeks now. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I also need to get in contact with someone about a purchase. Thanks.

P.S. Does anybody here know Sillbeer? Did he get deployed or something? Just curious.

i think most agree that PM is a waste. Just use email because that's basically what it is. also PM has a tendancy to hog bandwith on vbulletin apparently.if you need to contact a person just go to their profile and get their email

PM's are disabled for everyone. Like Chris said, they hog bandwidth and are a waste.

while we're at it, i wish we could have bigger avatars, like a normal board does, 50X50 pixels at least, it's not fair. why!? (bandwidth? but avatars are small!)

Our avatars are 64 by 64 I thought. I'd have to check for sure, but I think they are.
