Ok so...Today was really hot here in Atascadero Ca. I was doing some work on my SR and decided to fire it up after filling it up with water. Before starting it I messed with the CAS a little because my timing was not set (I need to get a gun tomorrow) anywase after messing with the CAS I cranked the engine and it started up but just very briefly and died. After that the it just cranked and cranked and would not start. So I went to the computer and red that the SR is proned to flooding and to test if it is flooded just take out the fuel pump fuse. So I did it and sure enough after holding the key down for a few seconds at full throttle it fired up then died. I let the it sit for a couple of hours after that and when I tryed it it fired right up. I ran the engine and adjusted the idle then let it run for another 15 min. after I turned it off I checked to see if it would start 5 min later when it was still hot it started fine. Then...This evening I started it up and took her out for a little test drive. It was running okay but like I said the timing wasn't perfect . After going for about 1/2 a mile to 1 mile the car started to die on me and then it did...Took the fuse out and found out it was flooded again...CRANK CRANK CRANK CRANK... Dad had to give me a toe home;)

Some one help me out. Thanks!:help

I can start the engine if I dry it out (by taking the fuel pump fuse out) But after I let the car sit and idle for about a min. and it just starts to die. I'll then give it some gas and that just floods it more and kills it.

hmm...shouldn't the car run with a blown mass air sensor? I know whith my KA I could not have the sensor connected and it would run find but the engine wouild have a 2200 rmp rev limiter. It really seems like something electrical to me. Like the computer is thinking that the car is cold so it chokes it but it is just stuck on. Not sure what would cause this.

well.. I would try un-hooking the maf, see if that helps

thne i'd try checkin fuel pressure after the regulator. see if its abnormialy high.

The water-temp sensor your are refering to is rigth on the TB. There are two plugs at the end of the Valve-cover on the intake side. the sensor you want is the lower plug.

Un-hooked the MAF it didn't do anything but make it run worse.

Then we can figure its (most likely) not the MAF.

I was going to say, that it sounds like a problem with metered air not getting into the combustion chamber.

you were right, but too late now. The guy found this out before you pointed that out. Maybe his life would be easier if you told us about that earlier! ;)

well im havin the same problem and my IC piping is fine....i have a Z32 Mafs and it ran worse when we took it off....we have to pull the fuse to get it to kick over too.....then it barely idles too....it keeps dying out and ish....the idle jumps all over the place and iyt i have to gove it gas while im braking to keep it alove......ish runs INSANE at WOT THO.....pulls like hell....and the a/r is near perfect at full boost (11.5-11.8, secret service tuned ecu) BYW i have upgraded eveything cept for block....
