My motor hasn't smoked at all untill recently. Only when it sits for a couple minutes during idle. It's an oil smell, not fuel.
What causes this? What can I look for, or replace now before it gets worse?

rings or valve seals are the usual culprits

I was hoping for something other than rings. Maybe I can get by with just replacing my valves and the valve seats...

Aren't the S13 SR's known to smoke, though? For some reason I thought I had read that before somewhere. . .

They're known for spitting flames and smoke from being rich during shifts (atmospheric bov + maf sensor = rich condition), but not oil smoke..

Could be a turbo oil seal?
