Why is my 240 limited to 75mph

everytime am driving my car and i accel real hard and hit 55mph the car stops responding to any kind of throttle input until i shift gears then when i hit 75mph it stop responding again until the speed drops to about 65-60mph it's real anoying and i dont know what to do. the car is a 1990 240sx manual trans.

you can help us all out if you can figure out if your hitting a rev limiter or not, so instead of a speed, we need to know the rpm and gear.

speed, more than likely isnt your problem, its probably a 5500 rpm rev limiter problem, which is not that all uncommon

might want to check your 5th and 4th sensors and the green/yellow IIRC wire going to the ecu. I tried everything to remove the speed limiter on my car(90) and thats what they did to my speed limiter. It was funny, I was like WWWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMPPPPPPPPP
