That sucks. Which is faster, your B/F's Pontiac, or your G?

***EDIT

I just noticed that it's a GTO, not a G6. I'm guessing he's quite a bit faster.

i got the worse of it.. my bf was flown in the same helicopter as me and he needed stitches on his head and he had some bruises on his legs. the kid that hit us was driving a big conversion van (the ones that have the beds in the back) he ended up flipping the van and all he needed was stitches in his arm.. he said he dropped his cell phone and went to pick it up and saw the light was red but kept going.. he was going 50mph and we were going 45mph.. so it was a good impact.. i remember it all too.. never blacked out once, and i wish i did bc i really dont want to remember it.

Glad you're ok. Looks like the Pontiac did its job in protecting you guys.

Glad you've found us here, too. Welcome home.

You will get over it - the over cautious and worry about driving - Glad you both made it out without serious permanent injury - Pontiac does seem to do a fairly good job at absorbing impact. Soon you will realize that it wasn't luck that you made it through- just that your number wasn't up yet -or at least that was my conclusion after a few months of recovery soon leading to a serious case of adrenaline addiction... better than pain killer addiction!!!

Hope you are all healed up and start enjoying your G!

I'll have to see if I can find any pics of my poor '90 Grand Prix turbo 6... bent into a U. Driver's seat ended up being about 6-8" wide after it was all done

Recovering psychologically from accidents can be tough for some people, 99QX4 and I got into a minor accident because a 50+y/o lady hit us from the back at a stop light, there was no damage but we have pinched nerves and she has a dislocated disk. Now she's very aware of her surroundings at what not.

Yikes!!! Glad your all relatively ok.

ALWAYS watch the other guy...especially through intersections. When I was 16 I wrote off my Mom's brand new Cadillac when a drunk driver did the exact same thing to me. Now, no matter if the light is green ...it's pure habit that I always double check.

Stay safe!

Ouch. I'm glad you're okay too. You realize that you have had your share of accidents, and no more will be allowed. You're just going to have to settle for nice boring trips from now on.

Glad everyone is ok...cars today are 10x safer than cars just 10 years ago. I'm more aware of my surroundings after some saddle time on a bike. Sold it because I don't trust Atlanta drivers...

For the most part that is true. I have been rear ended in my 1965 CJ-5... lifted, boxed frame, roll cage, 4 point belts ect. Didn't do anything to the Jeep. Car that rear ended me ate the hitch until the motor. I wasn't even sore afterwards.

How do you only fracture your femur?

That's one of the strongest bones in your body.

I'm sorry to hear about your accident. My personal advice (from experience) is to not drive overly cautious. I know that sounds crazy, but I have experienced my share of accidents and during the psychological recovery period, I found myself driving slowly and cautiously. This type of driving was more dangerous than my normal driving. I'm not exactly sure why, but I think it has to do with comfort.

lol by any means i dont drive slow.. but i mean by saying im still scared to drive is when i come to intersections i constantly flash back to getting hit bc im the one that otld my boyfriend that the van wasnt stopping and my bf turned the wheel.. if he didnt do that i probably would have died bc the van would have hit my door instead of the front end.

my femur broke bc the floor pushed up so hard/fast that it snapped my leg. my pant seams ripped on both sides too. and i tried getting out of the car when it happened and im like wtf i cant move and i looked down and my leg was completely deformed and im started screaming. a cop that was on a traffic stop heard me. happened to be my dads friend (co-worker).

i know what you guys mean about driving TOO cautiously bc those people drive me nuts when im behind the haha.. so i refuse to be like that.

We are all glad you're okay and I wish you many, many more years of safe driving. Your accident proves the point that no matter how careful you are, it is always the unexpected that gets you.
