Why I'm Considering Trading-In My EX35 for 2010 Prius V

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

If you are talking about 20 years into the future, hopefully teleportation will become a reality and we'll no longer need our cars

Not that teleportation will ever become a reality in any of our lifetimes, but if it did, I'd STILL have a car in my garage to drive when I felt like it. I simply enjoy driving too much to give it up permanently!

BTW, about the same time they invent teleportation, they will have also figured out that all those batteries and the magnetic field from the giant electric motor in the Prius causes prostate cancer and/or the aforementioned shriveled testicles!

Once again, well said. Driving is more than just a means of transportation for me. Yeah, I'd love to be able to teleport to work and back and save a half hour commute each way. But I'd still have the desire to drive my car.

Totally different cars...one (the EX) is a sports car, and the other is a economy car. Toyotas and Lexus are cars for people that don't like to drive, and Nissan and Infiniti are for drivers. Drivers want performance, handling, stopping most then the geek electronics second.

You are right. It would be cool to teleport myself and my EX to the Autobahn for a fun weekend

completely agree, although my commute is only 2 miles. it would be great for errands although I would be the one person who ends up in the Safeway with missing parts all because I needed cat food.

Teleportation sound like a great way to stick it to the airlines for increasing baggage charges despite a sharp decline in fuel prices.

Personally I find something very satisfying about the sound of a gasoline engine and to me that is worth paying a little more for gas. However there are many people (my dear wife included) who see as a car more for the exterior color than anything else. To these people the driving experience is different, and others value the perceived environmental impact. To those people I really suggest something like the new Jetta tdi instead of a "smug mobile" or an Altima Hybrid with the same drivetrain. That is if you need a half electric car. Although if you do not have a Prius in California you are an evil person, lol.
