Washing the car today to get rid of the bird poop and I realized how surprised I always am at how clean Nissan's E33 Yellow Pearl looks, even when it's dirty.

Looks pretty clean, eh? It hasn't been washed yet.

Look at the dirt line where I strayed on to the upper part of the rear bumper when I was washing the rear quarter panel.

It almost makes up for me having to drive on my belly compared to being able to get away with almost anything in the 240SX.

Besides, everyone knows The Shooting Star is yellow. ;)

Pretty color! :dblthumb:

Do you use Zaino? I have a few coats on my car and dirt just seems to wash off with the rain. Mine looks clean now and it has been rained on about 3 times. My G was black :nono: Never EVER again will I have a black car. Black is not for anal perfectionists.

I would like to take my mudguards off too. They are ugly, but so are rock chips. :ohno: Are they hard to get off?

I'm a Meguiar's user. I use the yellow soap (of course!) that's got the GTR on the label, it's a good soap that doesn't cost much and I use either Gold Class paste wax or if I don't have a lot of time I'll use Ultimate Quick Wax. Believe it or not that dirt is sitting on top of a car that's hasn't been hand washed and waxed since last November! I go through a drive through now and again, but that's it. What ever crap they are using is what the dirt & grime were sitting on top of.

Here are a couple of links on Courtesy Parts on installing the front and rear splash guards. Removal is just the opposite with the exception of not having to drill any holes. I'm not sure what it's like on the 370, but I can't imagine it's much different.

If you're going to remove them you should do it sooner rather than later. The longer you wait the "harder" the line will be from where the splash guards meet the skirt will be. Clay bar (and maybe rubbing compound if it's a severe line) will help you get rid of the line.

And I'll be letting everyone know about chip repair in a week or so. I picked up a chip repair kit from Dr Color Chip and I plan on taking a series of before & after shots as well as documenting the process.

I'm going to have to get down (if I can get that low :chuckle: ) and look at them. I was hoping that they were just stuck on. It sure would look alot cleaner without them. I could just have protective film put in the "rock zone".
