"a leisurely 17.9 seconds in the 1/4 mile" LOLOL
"handling prowess is considerable [...] superb highway ride, among the best we've ever experienced in an SUV" and at $37k, it cost less than a ford explorer of the same year. Please go buy a ford explorer and report back with your findings, i think you'll be shocked with the difference.
What's sad is that just about everything on that list is fixable or your faultinfinitiqx4x4x4 wrote:1. i have spent over 5 hours trying to put in the left cv halfshaft, i did the right in about 30 minutes, but the left one will not bolt up, therefore it has been sitting for the last 5 weeks, i've returned and tried three different shafts.2. it sounds awful when i start my car, but thats just my own negligence by not replacing the serpentine belt, don't you hate that?3. ride is awful4. apparently 85 degrees on my heater is a lie, it feels like maybe 60.5. gas pedal started sticking, two weeks after i bought it6. underpowered.7. something smells when i turn my A/C on.8. its the cheapest made "luxury" vehicle ive ever seen in my life9. there is nothing you can do to "customize it"10. i would rather kill myself than ride in the passenger seat, there is not nearly enough room.11. does anyone have any advice about the cv shafts tho?
Sweet! I am always surprised by how much things lose their value. I paid $7,500 for my 1999. In 2001, we bought a boat for $6,000 that sold for $38,000 in 1988.
You got a great deal! I paid $13,500 for mine in 2003 with 55k miles on the odo. Today its worth almost nothing.bmlawless wrote:Sweet! I am always surprised by how much things lose their value. I paid $7,500 for my 1999.
you should give it away and get something nicer....infinitiqx4x4x4 wrote:1. i have spent over 5 hours trying to put in the left cv halfshaft, i did the right in about 30 minutes, but the left one will not bolt up, therefore it has been sitting for the last 5 weeks, i've returned and tried three different shafts.2. it sounds awful when i start my car, but thats just my own negligence by not replacing the serpentine belt, don't you hate that?3. ride is awful4. apparently 85 degrees on my heater is a lie, it feels like maybe 60.5. gas pedal started sticking, two weeks after i bought it6. underpowered.7. something smells when i turn my A/C on.8. its the cheapest made "luxury" vehicle ive ever seen in my life9. there is nothing you can do to "customize it"10. i would rather kill myself than ride in the passenger seat, there is not nearly enough room.11. does anyone have any advice about the cv shafts tho?
Keep in mind that I bought mine in 2007 with 112k miles. I'd say that you got a pretty sweet deal when you paid just over 1/3rd of the original value for a car with only 55k on the clock.fueler wrote: You got a great deal! hahahah tis true.bmlawless wrote:For the record, yours is worth nothing today because you beat the bloody hell out of it.
Doesn't this apply to just about ANY SUV manufactured prior to 2005?SnowSurfLax wrote:No, our QX4's are worthless because no one wants to buy a 10 year old underpowered SUV that gets crappy gas mileage.
Meh, not really. Some of the tiny little wannabe SUV's aren't hit as hard since they get semi-decent gas mileage.Sentientbydesign wrote:

9. Look at my R50 or Aelx's R50 or Tyler's SAS R50...10. If you do, will you get a video of it for my own morbid curiosity... I just like to laugh at peopleinfinitiqx4x4x4 wrote:9. there is nothing you can do to "customize it"10. i would rather kill myself than ride in the passenger seat, there is not nearly enough room.
