like the title, my brand new walbro doesnt turn on when the key is on, and i have no spark! my pump fuse is still good. i checked the cas the way the fsm says to by checking between ground and terminal b, it went from .3 to 0 just slowly dropped. the engine cranks but nothing happens. i've been over my wiring a ton of times. people keep saying to check my ignitor chip but i've searched and cant find out how to test it or test the harness leading into it for that matter. i need help guys!!

The first few questions I'm going to ask. Is this an auto -> manual conversion? Did you remember to jump the park/neutral safety switch if it is a conversion?

Are you getting power to the ECU?

I think the root of your problems are in the ECU. I think that it's not getting power for ignition, which is why you're not getting spark or fuel.

Double check to make sure you have the wiring for the plug next to the battery done up correctly and then make sure everything is ground correctly.

okily doky, im an idiot! lol. i went to check my wiring and noticed two of my harnesses were unplugged from when i relocated my battery.... so now i hear the pump turn on, i cant check if im getting spark cause i dont have another person to crank it for me while i check the spark. but it started kinda kicking a bit more like it was getting small fires, not just the starter turning it over. but it still didn't start.

If you pulled the CAS out, make sure you replaced it properly. It sounds like your ignition timing is off now.

Also, if you put it back in per the service manual, and all you get is some popping and backfiring through your intake, you're probably off 180 degrees. I had that happen and I was stumped for the better part of a week. Pull the CAS out, set the motor to TDC exhaust stroke and reinsert the CAS as per the service manual.

Here's a how to:http://www.frsport.com/How-To-....html

Is this a first startup for a swap or was the car running and then you futzed around and it stopped starting?

Definitely try resetting the CAS. A lot of importers will pull them out and slap them back in with little regard to lining them up properly.

so im resetting my CAS at the moment, and on the frsport link it says to hand turn the engine till the two darker links line up with the cam spots and the pully lines up on the 2nd marker. well im doing that, and im noticing i only have one different colored link and its a lighter gold one. so what does it tell me? i should line it up with the exhaust cam notch right?

It just means that you need to turn it over more. The gold link is for the crank sprocket. There are two silver links for the cams. Just keep turning the motor until the two silver links show up top and line up with your cams.

The CAS could be off 180. Pull the CAS out and then rotate the crank around till you're back on TDC of the exhaust stroke (one full revolution of the crank from where you are) Then re-insert the CAS.

can not use the links after the engine has been turned over. Use timing maarks and piston on TDC on compression stroke...
