Why don't we see more G's with slips like this?

Check it out..here's a V6 Turbo stang running low 11's. Which also has drag radials and just doing test/tune runs with out the best reaction times (guessing high10's after tune and more passes). So why isn't there more vids of G's running low 11's and high 10's with all the ST and TT setups around (not saying they can't, it's just hard to find)? Just curious....thx

Mustangs have a tremendous aftermarket following. Everything is available from multiple manufacturers and relatively cheap. They aren't temperamental, and they aren't expensive (relatively speaking) to start with. They can be easily lightened and they are rwd. Plus, since April 16th, 1964 the Mustang has been an American Icon. I'm going to quit now because the boos are getting louder and somebody's throwing rotten fruit my way...

LOL nice....I know there's alot more for them out there, I was just curious, cause boost is boost, and when you start ST or TT an already 300hp give or take motor you'd think there would be vids out there. I know they can do it, you just rarely see any good proof. Of course many G's could probably eat that stang alive on an autocross track, but drag times are nice too. I guess I'm just greedy and want the best of both worlds

lack of aftermarket support

You can make anything really anything an 11 second car. There were quite a few 11 second Hemi rams running around with nitrous bottles in the bed. I had one

One of my buddies in OK bored and stroked his single cab Hemi from 345 cubic inches to 370 cubic inches and it would run 11's on the motor!

The farther you go past the rated hp and torque the closer to drive train failure you get. The ECU is designed to prevent you from making too much power so you have to get a stand alone ECU that you can tune or you have to have piggy back's to trick the stock ECU to accept the new power range.

Bolt on's are great for small performance gains but my Ram taught me to buy something that was fast enough already OR have an emissions exempt toy to hot rod.

I still do not understand why the G35 does not have much of an aftermarket selection. Especially with it being sister car the the 350Z. Shame it doesnt have a honda badge on it just kidding

Because most people don't modify their G35...

You see the same thing with the Lexus SC300 - 400.. Sister to the Supra but lacking in after-market support.

I would personally rather have a 12 Sec car with a kickass suspension setup then a 10 Sec car.. but that's just me

Theres a drag race of a TT G35 vs a TT 350z on the tube. Sadly the video was cut-off at the then to hide the 1/4 time.. I'm guessing high 13's..

The G35 is too heavy. There are a few 350z that can hit low 11's. I havn't come acrss a G that can hit the 11 mark yet.

Plenty of honda/acuras hitting low 11's. A few that can even do 9's...

Also, I laughed at the G35 vs Altima vid.. WTF?

We had a saying when I was a teenager:

"I'd rather have a sister that was a whore than a brother that rode a Honda"

It referred to motorbikes but I still hate all Honda's!

11.9 on a TT FULLY BUILT G? haha. Thats 12's to me. That video didn't make anything better.

I bet for the same amount of Money spent on that G, you can build a quicker 350z and a quicker TT Supra.. The Supra would probably hit 9's..

But good try though... Lets hope he does better and get mid 11's next.

I'll bet the cost of building the G and the Z are more similar than you think.

He runs an 11.6 on his last pass....not too bad, but I would hope high 10's on a good day with ideal conditions and the right driver.

He had stock wheels... only 8 inches wide..

If he had 10 inch wheels with really sticky tires and a good driver...

he could easily be in the 10s..

And 11.6 is bad?? wait a sec... that's the same as the NEW GTR?
