Dear members, I am doing some research for an infinity G35 coupe. I am interested in purchasing one. My question is why are the brembo brakes only offered for the 2004 models. The 2005+ models do not have them. Brembo are a top notch company when it comes to brakes. Does this mean the 2004 brake better than the 2005+ models. Can any of you members answer my questions before I purchase. I prefer the 2005+ models because of the extra 18 horsepower, but also like the look of those brembo brakes(calipers). I know that the rotors on the 2005+ models are a bit bigger. Feedback please.thanks

Yeah Bembo brake is awesome. But if I were you I would go with a 05+ not just 18 ponies but rev up engine and resale value, waranty. Also the 05 had all the bugs worked out.

I agree with Zozo. Also, if you like them that much, swap them out when you pick up the 05. Prolly cheaper in the end by doing this. I know there were tonnes of complaints regarding the brake dust. That could be why.

If you can't afford the Brembo's if you buy the 05, look at some of the previous posts of people who have painted their calipers. That is always an option.

I had an 05 before my 07 and loved it. Great car, great year!

Oh...and you have to spell Infiniti correctly if your going to own one

They dumped the Brem's because the extra stopping power didn't justify the extra cost of the option. Not that many G owners wanted that it...if they did, it would have continued to offer the brakes in later models.

I agree with Whizz, you can always mod a later model with 'em if you want. But be warned, not only is the system expensive, but the pads/rotors are also costly when you need to replace them.

Get the 05+...use a search to find out more about the difference between the model years

In all reality the brembos didn't stop the car any faster, they just held up to more abuse and provided less brake fad over that time frame.

The 05 front brakes have almost the same size caliper @ 12.6" compared to the brembo rotor @ 12.75". The caliper is a 2 piston compared to the 4 piston brembo. I have the 05 brakes on my sedan and love them.

At least they didn't put a single pot on there with a 11.6" rotor like they jacked the sedan guys with in 2003-2004.

My understanding is that the factory Brembos are not the same quality as the Brembo Gran Turismo kits available in the aftermarket. The OE Brembos get the job done well enough, but don't feel as rigid as some good aftermarket kits out there.

Other than for the looks, the OE brakes 05+ are plenty of brake for normal use as the rotors are nearly as big as the brembos. If I were to seriously consider such a car for track use, I'd opt for a good aftermarket BBK myself.

the reason is because of the complaints Infiniti received. "too noisy, too many dust, wears out too fast, etc etc."..

The painting the already hideous OEM calipers is just nasty. It's like an ugly fat chick with a hairy azz face putting on make up.

The make up won't make it pretty, but enhance the ugliness..

If it is nicely done. I like it. Also the color is important to pick for your car.

Pink doesn't go too good with OB.
