Was looking at buying a late model pathfinder and found a lot of complaints about the transmission issue where the coolant can mix with the trans fluid when the seal deteriorates. I can't find where the Quest is listed as having this problem although it appears to share the same transmission as the Pathfinder. Is the Quest also plagued with this same issue? If so, what year models are affected?

i dunno about your generation minivan, but the wifey's Acura MDX had that same problem.... (dunno if the radiator manufacturers are the same)

i totally bypassed this by adding my own auto trans cooler and cold-weather valve to eliminate this from ever happening again (luckily the coolant and trans didn't mix on the mdx; the seal from the trans nipple to radiator rusted out)

ugh! just do a pre-emptive service and add your own trans cooler / cold weather bypass valve before this happens! i'm going to let the neighbor know about this design flaw of these nissans
