With warmer weather approaching it's not a huge annoyance but I'm curious what would cause the auto-down,one touch function of the drivers front window switch to not work in cold weather? In the morning the window will go down no problem but I need to hold the switch down like all the other windows. In the afternoon once the outside temp reaches about 55-60 degrees auto-down works normally. I have a spare switch in the correct color but haven't taken the time to change out it out.

I bet it's not the switch. One touch down(/up) power windows sense an increased current drain when the motor stalls out after the window hits a stop the end of the travel. Over time your mechanism has accumulated grease and grime that increased the drag on the system making it think it has hit a stop. As the grease warms up, drag decreases.

It's either grease or the motor has weakened with age requiring more power.

I've noticed that my one touch window is much slower to come up in the mornings when it's a little chilly (i.e., < 50 F).

It looks like your diagnosis is correct. The auto down function has started working again now that it's warm in the morning. I've been checking it every morning and it looks like 57 degrees is my go/no go limit. Thanks.

You might try wiping the window gaskets with a silicone lubricant. It makes the window glass slide easier against the gasket, so the motor doesn't draw as much current.

I use this stuff, made by Johnsen's:

I spray a little bit on a paper towel, and then use the towel to wipe down the gasket. You don't want too much on the gasket, or it'll leave an oil line on the window glass. It makes the windows move a lot quicker, so it's definitely making life easier on the motors.

You can get it at O'Reilly Auto Parts, among other places.
