Why does this keep happening?

I changed a bad rocker arm a little while ago and now I'm getting that ticking sound again. I haven't narrowed it down to the one(s). Why do the rocker arms keep going out? What exactly is the culprit to them failing. High revs? It's just fustrating........... and anoying when I pull up to a stoplight and I know everyone can hear my car ticking.
