I have a 2003 good Pathfinder and notice in 8 years I have done this foolish thing twice because its so quiet ,I turned the key and not a grind , a click and engine is killed, then restarts fine, on other cars I have owned its usually a deep loud grind and the engine keeps going , its not that it isn't a great idea Nissan has , but is this normal for this to happen ?

I don't know if it's normal, but it makes sense. I haven't tried to restart my Pathfinder but I would look at the tachometer just to see if it's running or not...lol My VG engine too has a smooth idle, it surprises me sometimes that it's running. :spitout:

maybe its normal for your 2003, could be a safety thing so your not grinding anything out lol, i know on my 1999 pathy Ive done that before and it would just keep grinding away lol
