OK, so I recently took my car to a shop b/c the oil light was coming on and I was getting timing chain noise as if it was going to break through my valve cover. Anyone have any clue? Im thinking hydraulic tensioner?

Hopefully someone can shed some light on this for me!! Car does not sound good, but no diff in car's performance...

If the oil pressure is low the tensioner will not stay extended to keep the chain tight. You need to check and correct your oil pressure problem.

How much would an entire timing kit be? And what all is involved with installing a complete timing kit? Maybe a write up somewhere?

Right but isn't it possible for them to malfunction or get clogged so the oil pressure cannot build up in the tensioner? May be completely off...

screw your rattling chain. low oil pressure equals destruction of engine.
