No, its not because the clutch is a mouse. I already checked.
Every time I depress the clutch pedal the clutch squeaks. It is not the pedal itself, it is from somewhere under the car. The squeak is comical in nature, sounding like a dog's squeaky toy.
If you have seen the movie "Snatch" it sounds like when the dog eats the squeaky toy. Kinda wheezy and just hilarious. But I have no idea what would be causing it.
I initially thought (after the mouse idea) it might be the throw out bearing, but I had a friend check it out and he didn't think that was the culprit. Might still be the problem, but I have no idea to be honest. In my illustrious 8-year history working on Nissans, I have never encountered this problem.
I should add the clutch works perfectly. Grabs hard, has never slipped, and pedal feel is normal. Truck is a 98 Frontier XE 4x4, 123k miles, ka24de.
Perhaps the clutch fork needs greasing? Maybe my master cylinder (or slave) is trying to tell me its on its way out?
I have no clue. Please share your thoughts.
