This may sound crazy or stupid, but why is there a plastic piece in the ignition that allows me to start the car without an actual key? I cannot seem to remove this thing either. If someone were to break in they could start the car without a problem.

What's the deal?

Alright our keys have a chip in them that sends signals to the ecu that allows you to do certain things at certain distances like roll down your windows or unllock the car. The intelligent key will not let the car start unless it is inside of the car but, You can use the valey key to start it if your key is dead.. If you have tried to put your key in it, it will start like normal. (this is the Short answer for you lol) so stop messing with it because you can start a conversation with a girl that likes cars and then take her for a ride =] haha
