Hey,

Well, i just bought a 93 240 SX/SE it has a KA24 engine in it, has 147,889 Miles on it, and the guy said the car was running rich also (((if that matters at all??))) its ran good no problems for the first week but i noticed that it idles High like, When i first start it up it idles at 900 or 1000 then as it warms up it goes to 1200 - 1350 and after i drive it down the street or to any where and i come to a stop it idles at 1500-1650. And on Windy days it likes to idle around 1700-1800 when i come to a stop, Why is this? And i also wanted to know, Having 147889 miles on a 240 bad or good? Engine has been treated well by the looks & sounds of it.

Check for vacuum leaks and clean your idle air control valve.

You said it was running rich. I think too much fuel can cause it to idle higher than normal. Engine might be compensating for the extra fuel by running at higher rpm's in order to burn the extra fuel. Check: injectors, spark plugs, fuel pressure regulator. Maybe you're not getting enough air into the mixture.

Good luck with stuff.

Ya it has Cruise Control, and I've looked at the Vaccums and they look okay but they probably could use replaced. Cleaning your air control valve hard? And how do i check the Coolant Temp Sensors. And i put new plugs in it, should i buy injector cleaner? and what is a IAVC? (( I know my way around a car, i'm not stupid but im not good with initials ))

Idle Air Control ValveCheck the timing tooAnd when you installed the injectors did you lubricate the O-rings? Putting them in dry will damage them

I had a problem like this, it ended up being the CC wire coming out of the solenoid. Under the hood. It was pulled out of the pump, try to push this in..see if it does anything.

The Cruise Control wire. Its the cable on the pass side of the car, that comes from the back corner infront of the wiper motor. The cable connects next to the throttle cable. Trace it back to the corner, and try to mess with the cable. See if it fixes your idol.
