Why does Formula D require a passenger seat?

I was reading Formula D's regulations and rules and found that they require a passenger seat. Why would they require such a thing?

FD is under the strange assumption they are trying to keep the cars more LIKE street cars thats why they require a passenger seat. to keep costs down you know.

one of the best times I had drifting was recently I had my dad ride a long side with me. He LOVED it. Also gaind a lot of respect for what I do inside the car.

Anyways thats kinda dumb about the whole "street car" look. If you ask me its almost setting a bad example. Kinda like sayin my street car can drift just like the pro's cars can cuz they look similar. Giving kids a false sense that their car can drift which could turn into street drifting. A lot more complex than that, but you get what i'm sayin?
