i was strolling on zilvia and i came across a thread in which on the 4th page, the moderator JEFF240SX says this:

"the KA has thin cylinder walls versus an SR.. but - the KA's is iron, not some aluminum-magnesium conglomeration. Strength for strength, I'd bet the thick weak metal and thin strong metal are nearly the same.Weak head? Compared to what? You have a weak head. Come to this discussion with proof and not assclownery, or go join the kiddies over at NICO."

this isnt the first time ive seen zilvian's hate on nico, especially moderators. ive read alot of posts that JEFF240SX writes and most of the time, he sounds absurdly cocky and if any other members even remotely questions him, he bans them? what a h0m0...

mods over at club240 are the same way... one mod even has "Yes, I'll ban you" in his sig..

and what is with Jeff240sx sig... "If anybody needs help, I will offer live help via AIM for $15 per 30 minutes, paypal only. PM me for payment instructions and AIM name.No. I'm not kidding. "

haha, good stuff... it would be funny if people acually pay him.

Let's just say they're cranky because they have a little tiny site, full of people who *think* they have good technical information.

They're gonna be REALLY cranky when their advertisers see the downward spiral of their daily traffic....

Yes indeed, Jeff - Send them all our way. We'll take good care of them, and you can continue to be the "playground bully" until you no longer have a playground.

because nico is full of noobs. and noobs don't add much to the community except for a +1 in the membership count.

we were all noobs once though.. so they have to go somewhere. nico is just a safe haven for them.

All those "n00bs" learn fast.

And if those cretins bothered to look around, they'd see we have FAR more technical info on the 240sx than anyone else...

I agree with Greg. This site is very helpful to the experienced and noobs. In my opinion this site is by far better then the rest. I have only posted questions on this forum. I know I don`t have to worry about other people or moderators giving me a hard time for asking questions. NICO ROCKS!!

chheeaaaa, you know it .

Well, now you guys know how 99.99% of Honda boys feel - they have it the absolute worse... so bad that many of them have picked up an anti-rice sentiment.. whatever that is.. and become even worse than honda criticizers.

Ppl like to rag on other ppl, whether it be jealousy, ignorance, or just plain ***-clownery. It's just something that is prevalent in our society and every clique... it's not limited to just online forums or nico.

And Greg... I do have an alternator article & a battery relocation article ready for the articles section;) - the battery relocation may be a little too messy for ppl tho, haha.

I agree that noobs learn a lot very quickly - everything is spelled out in plain english in a very organized manner. Props to you for giving them their first steps.

But for me, nico has almost found its limits. When I'm not helping out noobs, I'm not really doing much of anything except feeling good about myself. I'm not learning at the same rate i was during my first year or two here, and so I haven't been posting much anymore. I'm not saying I don't learn- I'm saying I only learn when the really smart people post, like the moderators.

Time for you to start hitting the Engineering forum.

At some point, there's not much left to learn. These are pretty simple cars.

well after being here for a few years i see where ur coming from crzycrv. i think if i had spent the same amt of time studying the books as i do reading NICO, id probably have a 4.0 gpa. o well, some things are just more interesting right? i will say that the more knowledge u acquire, the more time u will spend helping others and "lurking". might not increase ur knowledge like before but it enables u to get those good deals from the classifieds alot quicker lol.

Either that, or get off the PC, stick your head under the hood, and bring back something we havent heard yet.

Seriously, I know it can be hard for the 'experts', but you (at least, I) can never get tired of learning something new about cars. There are plenty of knowlegable people on NICO. Feel free to start an 'experts only' topic, and I (and hopefully other rookies) will follow along without interrupting.

There will always be someone around that knows more than you about something. The more you know, the harder it may be to find them.

I never meant to sound all knowing, or cocky in any way. I said there are still plenty of members I can name off the top of my head that can still school me in anything 240sx related.

You mentioned that you(myself included) never get tired of learning something new about cars. I completely agree. I just feel that there isn't a whole lot of stuff I've been learning from nico lately. I still do plenty of research and lurking on other websites and forums... as well as a couple of published texts.

Pardon me if I take offense to the "stick your head under your hood" comment. I can recall a few threads I've made during my time here in which I show how to make stuff work, and experiment with stuff that ended up failing. How about yourself?

The first site I was on was "240sx forums" I quickly realized that it was just a bunch of silly kids. Then I found "KA-T.org" which was better but still a lot of childish behavior. It was as if people there were more into bashing others and arguing than discussing cars.

I have found that, but for a few exceptions, people on this site are pretty helpfull, straight forward and cordial.

Arguments happen and are in fact an important part of the discussion process as they provide a litmus test for ideas. I find that most of the time people on this site are able to do so in a mature manner - unlike the others I've been to.

I think that if you are looking to make real progress on your car, this is the place to be.

as they say...no such thing as a stupid question...only a stupid answer

I just have to say this is the best site ever(not trying to kiss *** or nothing). And I agree with Craving4Boost about people not signing up but just looking. I just read and read for about a year before I even signed up. This site has helped me out alot if I ever have a question I no it will get answer here. This site even help me on my ka24e to ka24de coversion even though it not HARD it still was the first swap I ever did by my self. Keep running a great site.

me = 0you = a fewyou win, and therefore I win too

I'm wasnt suggesting that you hadnt contributed. I remember times when you answer my questions directly. And Ive never considered you one of the cocky know-it-alls.

The truth is I havent even gotten my feet wet. But I followed along with some of those things youve experimented with, and learned the lesson righ talong with you. I want nothing more than to the return the favor. I think thats how most NICO members feel. Not only did you save me from trying something that doesnt work, you may have given me idea that just may work. And I'll be more than happy to share when (if? lol) that happens.

I just meant that when NICO seems lacking, go work on the car or enjoy another hobby. Something will click and you'll come back looking for answers, to add new light to an existing thread , or to start a discussion on something we hadnt even considered.

Well, after reading and posting on KA-T, Zilvia, Freshalloy and here, let me tell you my findings

KA-t is very techy and really not for newbies unless you ask very specific or questions with fundament. No silly questions here!!

Zilvia, well, slow or nobody there, questions are randomly answered and well, I just read over there. Good site for sales and suspension work.

Freshalloy, Is starting to feel like a SR or wierd engine swap forums. If you plan to race you car in any certified body, that is your forum. Plan to install a SR with a wicked insane setup, go there

Here (NICO)Perfect for KA, KA-t's and SR. The KA-T forums (the most visited by me) is usually friendly. Usually because sometimes I HATE when somebody ask something and any jerk post to tuse the search button. It have the most active classified section I have enver seen.

Basically, I hate when "use the search button" sentence. Damn, if you are intelligent enough to write that, why you dont link the person to related topic, answer the damn question. In all the forums (exept freshalloy, their search is great) search frankly sucks unless you really know what you are looking for. Also, help the guy, he is a 240 lover too!Be polite and help, you will need help sometime!

Good t hear these suggestions.

I suspect that within a year, most of the other resources will be fairly irrelevant and useless.

We've got a few more features to roll out to you guys in the coming months, and a few things that are gonna blow you away.

Step aside, the NICO Network is on a roll.

i truly agree that nico is better because of its diverse knowledge available to the users. I post sometimes on zilvia.net, but their site is slow like hell sometimes. I prefer to use m broadband to the fullest.

I would have to agree with everyone. Nico is the ****, the ka-t forum is by far the best overall turbo ka forum anywhere. the only forum that cmes close is the sohc Ka-t forum on ka-t.org, they have more technicall answers (unless you ask a "stupid" question, then they have no answer)
