why do we have to rewire knock sensor?

ive searched and found out how to wire this up,but nobody every explained why.if i have the motor and complete upper and lower harnesses,and ecu ,why should i have to rewire knock sensor.this should all be complete plug in i thought?this is alli have left on my swap,just want a solid answer.

If you have the upper and lower harnesses, then just plug the knock sensor right in. The only reason you ever need to wire in a knock sensor is if you're using the lower harness from a single cam KA.

If everything came to you all plugged up nice, then you are good to go. Many folks get hastly yanked motors, and the lower harness is MIA or destroyed. The KA one can be made to work, and requires the rewire.

thats the info ive been looking for.ive searched the forums a lot.there is a lot of posts that dont specify that their using ka harness.they make it sound like their splicing out of their ca lower harness too.im good to go then.
