I suppose the title was a way to garner attention. To the moderators, excuse me if this isn't allowed, but a bit of a rant with some meaning.

After getting stuck in a snowbank last night, again, as I live in the snowbelt, I was asked by my fiance..why drive this car, and why not something more basic?

..Sure. I could drive a civic. I could take the safe route and buy a car that gets me from A to B. Why would I need a 14 year old Luxury car?
I'll tell you why.

We buy these cars because of the mastery put into them. We buy them for the leather seats, carefully stitched. We buy them for the memory adjusting seats, and the 2004's GPS. We buy them for the V8, and to hear it everytime we shift. We buy these cars because they aren't boring, and we buy them, because we want to do more than drive. We want the experience. Even through the hiccups, even through the rough idling, or blown wheel bearings, we buy these cars because we can't picture not owning a Q45.

Thank you for reading.

If I'm going to get stuck anyway, I'd rather be in the lap of luxury.
Has your fiancé never driven the car? I once let my lady drive my M45 and after 1.5 hours being boss of the highway, she was a believer.

We all have vices; for some it's cocaine, hookers or gamb|ing. Some combine all 3. Mine is nice cars.

I got the Q out of the garage for the first time since October to take my 2 month old to an appointment. I asked myself the same question after wrestling with the antiquated back seatbelts and his car seat. Then I got to the interstate entrance ramp, and remembered why I keep her around. After a couple of months of Toyota 4Runner blandness, and Frontier 4 Banger driving, I had forgotten the feeling of cornering, and what seems like "effortless" acceleration after being away for a while.

I've test driven a few other cars, even bought a Camaro convertible as a toy...but I can't get rid of the Q. 2002 with 180K on the clock. Recently took the midsection of the exhaust (has the last 2 cats and the resonator in it) out to weld up the broken resonator. The sound these make with the exhaust off is amazing! Also, my mechanic friend helping me with that part and the lower control arms said it was wonderful working on this car...like it was meant to be worked on.
