I am curious. As a 3rd Time Nissan owner, and truly, my 08 Coupe has re-sparked my interest in cars.
But, now that I have been paying closer attention, I notice that some people de-badge their cars, ok, thats cool. BUT, why do some put the Nissan Logo on an Infiniti and Infiniti logo on Nissans? I mean, I know the difference, becasue of the Car itself. They are not fooling anyone
I saw a G35, debadged, with only the Nissan emblem on the rear in place of the Infiniti one.I saw a 300 ZX with an Infiniti logo on the front. Also, it had a god awful metal looking tail spoiler, that looked, well dumb. It was one of thsoe that stuck up like 2 feet, the car was faded yellow, and a beat up body kit, I felt bad for this car, it needs to be saved!
So what gives with the emblems? Am I missing some hidden message, or is just personal preference?
Or is it like that guy who owns a Hyundai Accent,. with hood louvers, fender louvers, and hub caps with spinners that he got from pep Boys? O, and dont for get the TURBO emblem glued to the side to!
UPDATELOL...OK, so after posting this, I go to take pics of the car...the guy is there with his car, he is selling it! It's a 1990 300ZX Twin Turbo 3.0, of course. SO...I ask him if he minds if I take some pics, and he offers me to drive it, so why not?? The steering is really stiff...is it supposed to be like that? It ran good, the leather seats have seen better days, it has 135K on the odo, original miles he says, he has had it since 100k. It needs work, but it had no engine leaks I could detect, it was fast, I will say that. He added a turbo boost monitor on the dash, and it has a small LCD screen TV. He is asking $7000 US dollars. The door ajar light stays on constantly. It's all stock, except the big old whale tale. Not sure what they are worth.I made a point of asking about the emblem, he said the previous owner did that...his friends all laughed at him. For me, I told him that hideous spoiler would have to go. He was a nice Hispanic guy named Tito, so if anyone is interested, lol, call him up! According to KBB, this is how it breaks down for Private party Value:
Condition Excellent $4,460 Good $4,035 Fair $3,510
NOTE the Infiniti badge on the front...this car is Fair at best, I would offer him 3 grand for it 3500 tops.
