why do i need ka lower harness?

if im using the ca transmission,why do i need the ka lower harness to splice for starter and transmission.why cant i just use my ca lower harness.it will all plug in right?

You dont HAVE to use the KA lower harness, its just that most motorsets dont come with them. Also, you need to switch the speed sensor from the KA transmission to the CA transmission. Otherwise your speedo won't read right.

thanks,just wanted to be sure.it came up alot on the search button.i did see i have to wire in my knock sensor.do you just cut the wires completely out of the harness,ground the black and run the white to pin #23 on ecu?

i have a ca gauge cluster.that should take care of that

+1 for CA lower harness. It's actually more desireable to have the CA lower harness, it's just that most people don't get them. I got a front cut, so I had everything.

My motor got pulled out of a front cut and then shipped to me, so I got pretty much everything but a shell. I even got the main fuse box:). Trust me, if you're not in any hurry to finish your swap, look around for a CA lower harness, I'm sure you could find one. It just makes things a heck of a lot easier when you have the wiring that was made to wire into your motor.

i have ca lower harness,thankfully.i guess by the search engine alot of people did not,that is why you rewire the ka lower harness.thanks ca gurus once again.
