Why do I have to advance my timing to run full throttle?

why is it that the only way my car will run full throttle is when i have my timeing all the way advanced???

what can yall tell me that might be able to help me out...

and why does it have to be advanced just to run full throttle...??

has anyone ever had this problem?

You shouldn't have to do that, in fact, its not suppose to BE doing that. Did you set your timing correct when you installed the CAS?

yeah i took the VC off and set it top dead center...and when i get on it...it just goes(like a sec.) and then just skipps really bad...idk its wierd as ****!..but when i advance the cas it runs right...

What do you mean by VC?? And maybe its 180 off on the CAS

vc=my short cut for valve cover...and what do i do if it is 180 degree's off.

When you set your timing, did you check that the 2 dark links match up with the marks on the cam sproket? Try removing your CAS and physically spinning it 360 degree's and reinserting it.

open the "vc" and set it to TDC and make sure you have the cams pointing outward. Thats when you know its on compression stroke. then set the cas correctly.
