I have the Nissan Intelligent key. What is the purpose of the keyhole when I don’t have anything to put in it? Were they supposed to give me a real key as a backup?

Also, if the battery goes dead on either the car or remote, how do I get inside? What is the backup plan?

The backup key is inside the remoteLook at the back of the remote, there should be a button you can slide itthen pull the key out

The purpose is same as what you said, in case of a dead battery

OMG, that is so cool! I figured the battery was in there so I never tried to open it. Thanks!

An EPIC FAIL for the dealership/salesperson. That's kinda important to know .
