Was browsing on craigslist and saw some fixed up Z's for under $17000 and low mileage and good condition and clean title. It makes me feel so pissed because I got my 350z last december 2003 touring with 55,000 miles for $17500 and it wasw completely stock and I spent about $2000 for the aftermarket parts and getting some 20" mrr gt1 rims tomorrow and gonna cost another $2000. Makes me feel like a lowballer driver now and feels like i got ripped off also but I still love my Z. anyone else with me here?

You have already purchased your Z there will ALWAYS be a better deal somewhere. This country is in a serious bind all the way around and depending on how it affects different people you may from time to time see a car go out the door for dirt cheap. Down here in louisiana the just bumped up the insurance rate pretty good and I know people who are getting rid of there "nicer" vehicle because of it, so I know they will sell those probably at a good deal they have to get rid of them with insurance and gas going through the roof. Enjoy what you got cant go back now.

Over time and after the car has been out for a while the price always goes down untill they become collectable.

news flash, cars, are depreciating asstes, with very few exceptiong all new cars are gonna go down in value, and will continue down, soem cars can be colectible and come back but the Z's are not very collectible, very rarely wil you see an S30 sell for more than $10, you might think this is a good return considering they were $3-5k new, but todays dollar is worth a bit more, the Z31's seems to have bottomed and are creeping back up, the Z32's are still going down so the Z33 has many years of depreciation ahead of it, and mods will never return their cost

same for vette's, the C3's have all bottomed and started coming back, the C4's are still depreciating, as well as the C5's and 6's, a car is NOT an investment! if you want a collectible car you need to buy somthings thats already 30-40 years old

I agree. However - also take a look at all of the transmission and clutch problems the 350Zs have. They WERE a pretty new car when the new 350Z came out in 2003. Now they've been out for 6 years, and the internet is FULL of complaints about the clutch and transmissions going out in 1,500 - 22,000 miles (some people with 4 clutch replacements by 20k miles). There is a serious reliability issue with the 350Z, and people are starting to notice - myself being one of them, unfortunately, because I'm not sure what I should do with mine. I've babied it and have to replace the clutch - began having probs with it at 20k miles. Driven a stick shift all my life - had cars over 220k miles - never replaced a clutch.
