Why are Nissan Dealerships quoting me $300 to $400 for CVT Fluid change?

Isn't it like an Oil Change, the CVT fluid cost $22.99 CAN for each Litre and my 3.5SE requires 5-7 litres (can't remember).

I can't get a reason, all they keep telling me is that "it doesn't need to be change," or "don' do it."

It's like what they really want to say is, "look you dumb s***, you don't listen we said you don't have to change it but since you are pushing us to, we will over charge your a**."

Ok I actually just drained and refilled my CVT fluid today.

The ns-2 fluid ran me $15 a qt, and it took almost 6qts...

You can do a drain/refill at 30k miles.. you dont need to do a flush until 60k'ish...

The fluid is really expensive though, theres no way around it, and no cheap place to get it (ive looked all over!)

A flush is NOT like an oil change, its much more involved... a drain/refill takes the same amount of time as oil change though, and if you can change your oil you can drain/refill your CVT fluid....

Yeah Bembol, I think they are quoting you for a flush (a 100K km maint) rather than a drain/refill (50K km maint). The flush takes more time and a lot more fluid so $300-400 (CDN) is probably about right, as bad as it sounds! I've passed halfway to a drain/refill but I don't know what it's worth - probably $175-200? I'll likely do that one myself for just the cost of the fluid. If they're actually trying to charge you $300-400 for a drain/refill, then DIY!

PS - I didn't see your car at Airport Road & Intermodal Drive a couple of weeks back, did I?
