About every 2 weeks I check my oil and I've noticed that I'm practically loosing oil every week. I usually add 3 bottles of oil, and after a week later I find that I'm loosing oil little by little. The last time I checked my oil my dipstick didn't even have a drop of oil on it. The only time it did have oil on it was when I ran the car for 30min's. Am I burning oil?

either oil leaking through the piston rings or valve stem seals..

Do you smoke alot when you are standing still like at a stop light? Also, check for compression to check if your rings are ok.

Yea, a friend of mine told me that when I acclerated from a stopped position, usually smoke would come out from my exhaust creating a smokescreen (sometimes).

well if it were the valve stem seals.. you would see a puff of smoke come out the back when you are sitting still.

If you are producing alot of smoke during acceleration, Id say turbo if you have that or oil leaking into the combustion chamber... Pull your plugs out and see what they look like.

i hope it isn't my valve stem seals =\ . I just had my head redone due to a blown headgasket. I'll check the plugs out though... I'm not creating smoke while the car is actually running, just after I press on the gas from a stopped position is when I usually create smoke.

i only have 111,000 miles with the head redone just a month ago... I think I'm still under warranty though (hope so!!!!) how much would it cost to have the rings repaired?

ooo... if you go to any shop to get the rings replaced.... thats going to be alot of money. Im guessing that no shop in their right mind will want to change the rings on the pistons with the engine still in the vehicle sooo that's already speaking of alof of money.

I know that this is not a repair but more of a band-aid.... but you can try those "Stop Leak" oil treatments see if they help.

i may have to try some of those treatments, along with if there's any "headgasket temporary fix for no coolant into cylinders leak".(got a bad HG causing overheating....and no time or $$ to fix it)

would be cheaper and easier to find a replacement motor from a junkyard or from somebody that has done a swap already.
