I have just recently noticed that all I am getting out of my vents is hot air and I have no clue why. Back before winter hit I changed the thermostat and flushed the radiator. I didn't really notice anything odd after doing that and then I decided to replace my burnt out bulbs in my HVAC. This was out of the car for a couple of weeks but then I put it back in and started noticing this problem. I thought it went away but it didn't because I'm getting it again now. I even get heat coming out when the temp is all the way on cold and with the a/c on and with the circulation button pushed in. I also get hot air coming out when it isn't even set on anything, hot air is just coming out.

Has anyone else had this problem or can point me in the right direction? Also the car doesn't seem to be overheating or anything like that.

Your temp control (ac, heat, fan control, etc) in the car has a linkage that will guide the vent control to and from the heater core. That may have either broken or slipped off. If it is stuck at the heater core then all you will get is heat, regardless if it is recirculating or ac. For the ac to work efficiently the control can't be full heat. The heat will override the ac which is why you can make it less cold by putting the control inside the car closer to the heat. Its just mixing air. I would pull out your temp control unit inside the car and check the linkage. Check out the fsm for more specific locations. If you google search 240sx fsm it will come up with a link to this forum (idk it off the top of my head) and you can download the entire fsm on your computer. Hope this helps.

I checked what you said and I couldn't see anything wrong. The cable that I was looking at goes from one of the heater hoses to the inside and connects to a box thing under the dash. I couldn't see anything moving or anything that was out of place. I'm not sure if you are supposed to be able to see the valve or whatever it is attached to move but it didn't look like it is.
I couldn't really find anything in the FSM about my problem.

It's in the FSM in the HA section. My guess is the connector for the blend door is loose or not connected. The air blend door is not working.

Is that what is connected on the other side of the cable that is under the dash? If not where is it located?

I think this might be my problem.

Every time I adjust the temp control on my HVAC the cable on the heater valve doesn't move. I was reading on another forum and saw that only the 1995 had this on the outside of the heater valve. Is there anyway to get this unstuck or does my problem lie on the other end of the cable.

Does anyone have any idea of how to fix this?
