I can understand competitivness... but somethings just go too far. I'm a member of b15sentra.net and orlandoforums.com, and one of the guys on b15sentra.net posts a thread about a 13.2 second spec with a few bolt ons and a 50 shot nos.. so i spread the news on orlandoforums.com, when this nut who owns a RSX -S posts a comment on what a RSX -S with 50 shot runs.. I don't care. The thread I started had nothing to do with what an RSX -S would do, or anything else. as a matter of fact, this kid always rants on about how much superior his rsx-s is over the spec... but the thing is, has the human intelligence level gone that low? what ever happend to respecting other cars for what they can accomplish? i mean afterall, watching a duallie run a 12 second 1/4 mile gave me respect for desiel engines.. are people really that self-centered?

That's weak...

It's too bad people get SO wrapped up in their own cars that they can't respect the efforts of others.

p.s. Tell the kid with the RSX his car is lame. :)

I too have often bashed on other cars (honda). But that is mostly because of their drivers. I do know and respect the cars for their performance attributes.

It is a maturity things. He will mature up one day. I am 27 and have been forced to finally mature up some myself. It sucks, but I guess it has to be done. :D

what performance attributes? they don't even have a V8, and the 125 hp at 9000 RPM its that impressive, for crying out loud my lug nut needs more torque then any factory civic can procure

Also....I pulled my friends valve cover on his D17 2002 Honda civic, they still use the one cam and spring lifters same god dam technology that was used in the 60’s for Christ sake,

The s2000 engine is a fine example of engineering. And you have to admit that their VTEC engines are pretty good. I hate to say it myself, but I did.

Drive a S2000. It's 240 HP, with a 9,000 RPM redline. See if you still aren't a fan of Hondas. :-)

eh i'll take my car to 9000 rpm when i feel like it! lol my car cant do 9k rpm but it'll definately spank an S2000 all day :)

and to the RSX kid, i say shove it...one of my best friends drives an RSX S...it's HIS DAD's and he talks all the time about how "this RSX on clubrsx.com will totally smoke u, it's turboed!"

i wonder if he realizes my car technically only has an exhaust, FMIC upgrade and a boost controller as far as engine mods go...heh, he can lick it if i drop 3k into a turbo setup...lets talk about 400whp easy

On a dragstrip, certainly. Through a set of tight twisties, you better hope your suspension is seriously worked over. In a recent car mag, a S2000 only lost out to an Elise on BeaveRun by 1 second or so. :-)

yeah but on the best motoring videos, the S2000 placed pretty well when put up against the R34, 350Z, BMW 5something, and i think something else...

Yeah i saw that video too. The finger stick was mad funny!!!:pface That model was so hot too...Also, the 350z got spanked by that review, saying its got too much oversteer and stuff. It did pretty well considering its N/A matching to turbo cars. It had to put up against a S14, S15 and an R34. It gave me real insight into what they really put into the making of the new Z.

yeah, but i'll trust what BMI and Topgear have to say about cars over any car magazine... becuase I've come to the conclusion, with the exception of a few of the people who do the testing of new cars, half of them can't drive worth a crap. I think it was SCC or Import Tuner that could only manage a 15.3 out of a Spec V... but I got a 15.1 on a SE-R model, which is 10hp (at the crank) less horses than the spec..

Some car magazines seem hard to trust (Import Tuner, etc), but ones like Car & Driver, Road & Track, and Automobile seem pretty reliable, with good sources of information, even if their drivers aren't the best at all times.

No. THEORETICAL 10hp less.

The differences between the Spec and the SE-R performance-wise MIGHT produce 10hp, but I doubt it.

The performance differences are: 2 degrees timing difference Different air intake tubes on the air box.

That is all performance-wise. Now, since the 6-spd HLSD transmission has more parasitic loss than the SE-R, *IF* there is any difference it is at the crank only.

Not to mention, one of the first mods anyone does is the CAI. Difference has now been eliminated.

There are more cosmetic differences between the SE-R and the Spec than there are performance differences, INCLUDING the suspension tuning.
