I think it was SCC or Import Tuner that could only manage a 15.3 out of a Spec V... but I got a 15.1 on a SE-R model, which is 10hp (at the crank) less horses than the spec..
No. THEORETICAL 10hp less.
The differences between the Spec and the SE-R performance-wise MIGHT produce 10hp, but I doubt it.
The performance differences are: 2 degrees timing difference Different air intake tubes on the air box.
That is all performance-wise. Now, since the 6-spd HLSD transmission has more parasitic loss than the SE-R, *IF* there is any difference it is at the crank only.
Not to mention, one of the first mods anyone does is the CAI. Difference has now been eliminated.
There are more cosmetic differences between the SE-R and the Spec than there are performance differences, INCLUDING the suspension tuning.
