I don't see a need to go any faster. Unless you are JDM TYTE TOKYO DRIFTO, understand?

Car and Driver topped out at 117mph w/a 6 speed.

Remember, the faster you go the more your speedometer is likely off.

That is to say, your speedometer indicated speed is higher then actual speed.

Car and Driver, however, uses more reliable instruments.

120 is the fastest I have ever took my Versa....probably could have taken her faster but didn't want to risk it.

I like the Camel and don't want to damage anything. That being said, I've had the Camel up around the 120 mark a few times... but didn't stay there long.

I've gotten my needle to kiss the 120 mark. I cruise to school at about 80.

high rpms are tough on an engine. I hope to never take mine over 4k. Enjoy your blue smoke at 120k miles.

Hey Bill these are not those Old American cars you have grownup with!

I didnt Redline my car and a few Regular start, High RPM drives wont hurt an engine. Racecar starts are what really do a number on valves and gaskets!

driving at 60mph maybe is using 25% of the engines potential.

There could also be consequences of never revving an engine, too. Some oil sludge issues are thought to be a consequence of never reaching high RPMs. Although hardly scientific, there are many folks in the G20 community who report seeing far more oil sludge and various deposit buildup in engines of automatic-equipped G20s versus 5-speeds. The thinking behind this is that the autos are generally driven at lower RPMs and never reach RPMs necessary to 'blow the cobwebs out'.

Although driving your car 2 Fast 2 Furious isn't a good idea for longevity - there's nothing wrong with giving your engine a good workout from time to time. With today's engine performance, I'd be more worried about the consequences of fast starts on other components - namely transmissions.

If that were the case, this should be blowing dark blue smoke... my 1971 240Z with original and not rebuilt 2.4 liter engine with 252,000 miles and still going strong and uses virtually no oil. Still go on several road trips a year, and twice a year to ZDAYZ at Tail of the Dragon for a good thrashing.

Sold my 72 in 74. Please don't post that picture again. I've gotten over numerous break-ups since then so you'd think I could let go of this last lost heart throb from my youth but....

sniff,David

P.S. Congrats. That's just Classic.
