i have a power fc with D- jetro unit. which is the conversion unit to covert from maf sensor over to map sensor. anyway i know some people go map sensor wether its via pfc or another standalone setup. my question is which is better? i was told that maf was easier to tune than map. im not running a top mount turbo or anything. its stock for now and i will plan on upgrading turbo but it will stay bottom mount for sure. i guess what im asking is what is better map of maf on my redtop?

I have a map sensor only because i got an hks fcon vpro for a really good price and it uses a map sensor. Map sensor is required for higher (500whp +) applications. You can certainly run it but it would be overkill. A mafs is more practical because you won't need to add any sensors. A z32 mafs is good up to 500hp. It does look baller though having your intake going directly to your turbo without a mafs.

Nope. Right now I'm at 341whp. I only got the vpro because i got it for $500 and it lists for $1400. If I upgrade my turbo I'm sure I can hit 500 because the internals are built.

thanks. does anyone else have any input on this? i heard that in large intake air spikes the map sensor will not be able to pick it up as well and can cause random lean problems. Especially with the atmosphere changes in the midwest the pressure can change in minutes, and the sensors will take a short period of time to adjust. Personal prefernce for our climate is MAF/AFM. hondas use map and those f@ckers run forever.

i am getting ready to switch to map right now. I run AEM EMS and i am planning on making 450whp on pump and somewhere near 550 of race. Ill let you know how i like it after i convert.
