Cleaning up some files and found some old pics of another friend's engine bay... this was a black kouki that belonged to same friend that later had the silver S14 I posted pics of above. Being a kouki car/motor, there was a lot of solenoids, wiring to hide from the intake manifold side. I powdercoated/anodized most of the ancillary items to go for that clean all-black look (which was carried through to the extreme on the silver car later). It's just kinda a shame that my friend swapped on the blue plug wires, and clear, nylon-reinforced breather hoses as seen in these pics...
And on the subject of v-mounts... they are not good because the positioning of the radiator in formal v-mounts channel air under the car... which is one of the last things you'd want to be doing. In a real performance application, that air will want to lift the car, and upset its handling. Prob a pretty moot issue on a mostly street driven car though. I built a full ducted setup on a friend's S13 for ****s and giggles before... the duct work channels all the air in, through the heat exchangers, and up and out the top of the hood. Oh yeah, and the car's got a/c, so there's a condenser there, too... unfortunately I could only find the under construction pics, not any of the engine bay together...

I kinda miss this car...
