So, there's McCain on "The View" (what was he thinking)?

Surrounded by the mental giants that the show is known for, McCain makes a statement (during a discussion of Roe v Wade) to the effect of "believing in a strict interpretation of the Constitution".

Whoopi, in her drug-addled pre-Parkinsonian brain, forms a half-thought, and actually allows it to be formed into words:

"Do I need to be worried about being returned to slavery?"

Now, folks, that's retarded.

I think if McCain weren't so stunned by her stupidity, he could have schooled her on the difference between the Constitution and its Amendments (not changeable) AND the judiciary's interpretation of laws (changeable).

Further, since when was Whoopi a slave? Was she not born free? Did I miss something in history class? Are all Blacks one vote away from being shipped back to plantations? And do the Dems REALLY want someone as STUPID as her representing their cause?....It gets better. During the cackling mass of hysteria that ensued, with all these mental giants comparing estrogen levels, Barbara Walters (OF ALL PEOPLE) tries to top Whoopi's retardation level by saying:

"It's OK Whoopi, us White Folk will save you."

Are you EFFING kidding me?

Yes, "The View". The pinnacle of female intellect on display for all to see.

The slavery comment was indeed retarded.

That said, Joy and Barbara raised some legitimate points about the accuracy of some of McCain's campaign ads.

Additionally, Elizabeth Hasselbeck, who is an ardent conservative, defended Obama against the stupid lipstick/pig comment. I've never seen her defend a Democrat.

But yes, Whoopi should've kept her mouth shut, lol. It was a dumb comment, there are others she could've made.

Did you hear the "BOOOOOOO" in that audience when McCain clarified his anti-Roe.V.Wade stance? That is NOT the thing to say on a show targeted towards women, lol. Granted it was lose/lose, if he had skirted the issue it would've looked just as bad, but sheesh.

Dunno why Mac allowed himself to be in that spot at all. Comparatively the same as locking yourself in a room with a bunch of junkies and you have the only bag of crack.

As for the Whoopie statement...simply embarrassing.

I'm white therefore I won't ever understand the struggle that is racism. But I know that when ignorance is perpetuated...no one wins.

Mac was a moron for going. Any campaign strategist will tell you that going into a lion's den is STUPID. You WILL get eaten.

I learned this the hard way, and among decently skilled strategists its common knowledge.

I'd have LOL'ed if he'd said something like,

"Ya know, you four are setting the female gender back to the 50's.... The 1350's."

Or better yet, on his way out:

"Hey Whoopi - Thanks for the shirt."

With the poor planning on Mac's (I really like that) part aside. I think a comment like that sets the public at large back many many years. I understand that Roe v. Wade strikes many deep emotions but a comment like that is a very poor way to get your point across.

I share the same point of view as her but that is not the way to go about it. What a shame.

The fact remains that RvW ain't going anywhere... if anything, it'd become a states rights issue, which is fine as well...

Panic over something that's not in danger of changing is wasted energy, and Whoopi showed EXACTLY why the opinions of entertainers / athletes on political matters are irrelevant to the populace.

Around election time they pull the same types of crap in Indiana's 7th Congressional District. The Carson Campaign (mainly Julia Carson's) has been notorious for implying with their material that slavery will be brought back if everyone doesn't vote for her. As if voting for her will keep black slavery from coming back. I believe it is the United States Constitution that defends people from slavery.bud
