I am starting this thread to get some opinions from you guys about an opportunity.:thinkerI was in a wreck the other day and have to replace the bumper, hood and one fender (also the flip up light). Since all this has to go, i think, "this would be a great chance (excuse) to do the front over with JDM s13 parts". Im hoping to get at least a grand out of the insurance company.

The bumper you have is the Chuki front bumper. The Aero front bumper is the s13 silvia bumper with a vent on each side. The standard k bumper has one hole on the driverside. The J/Q bumper has neither. Jspec tuner has a aero bumper on his car. I I got something wrong I'm sorry I am very tired and not thinking right. I believe I am acurate though.

sounds like me....i replaced the hood with a vented carbon one.....fender from junkyard.......bumper is scratched up but will have to do for now.....replaced the lights with eastbear........spent most of my cash upgrading and replacing suspension .....even if it didn't really need it.

you do have more options then the silvia 13 front.you can also do the 15 frontyou can you a number of different light conversions.at least 3 different fender changes....couple wide body and one vented ....check importfan.comand also combinations of those.

your insurance should total your car......new hood, fender, bumper, light assembly.......easy $2k....plus who knows what else that is not easily seen.......probably bend the apron also....if not framework.......so if they total it you should get $3000 approx.......fight with them.....bring receipts of parts invested, ads of like cars.....etc and you may be able to get more from them..... i got $3600...and didn't have to pay my salvage.......but it took some work.

anyway goodluck

ps yeah its been a loooong time since i've been on the forum....try to update pics and all that when i get time.....you can check the slideways website for stats on my car.....i think they are up to date.....pics are old.

I don't think the s15 front matches up well with the s13. Though to each their own. Wide body fenders are nice though. Providing you have wheels to fit them. Nothing sadder than a set of +40 offset 7 inch wide wheels and wide body fenders. :(

The 2 and 3 projector lights are just what they say. One has 3 bulbs the other has 2. Some people don't even like projectors and use nonprojector lights. I am quite delerious at this point so verify that info before you take it to heart.

Go wide body i rarely ever see a wide body 240. chargespeed has a very nice kit for pretty cheap. Or do the Type X conversion, wish I had a nice fat check from insurance coming...

People. I am not rich, nor have i given you any reason to think so. So outlandish ideas like getting the whole car outfitted for "wide body" and "type x" conversions are not going to be feasable. Especially with only a grand or so to work with.

Okay point 2. They will not total the car because i have inspected it and driven the car with no panels or bumper on the front. It was hit in the same place as last year, and only at 15 mph.

I need a three projector aero kit. Thats all i want, and i think i can afford it, even with the cost of pulling the frame back.

well like i said good luck with that.... my accident was at a fairly low speed also.......some idiot made a left hand turn from the right hand lane.....unfortunately i was in his way.....my insurance totalled my car....based on the fact i needed a new hood, fender, bumper, headlight assy. and paint.... hopefully you will be more lucky.....once again best of luck

with most insurance companies they price the parts that need to be replaced.....and they price it by the value of new parts....new parts from the manufactuer are extremly expensive...ie new headlight assy. $550.....all those parts add up.......if the total of estimated repairs is 90% (roughly) or more than the "fair market value" of the car....the insurance company would rather just pay the fair market value. fair market value- is not a blue book value......blue book is based on a asking value. the fair market value for my car.....92 fastback se.....$3500 in my area.
