Shot.

The single flimsiest piece of interior equipment ever in a car? Perhaps. It's that bad. I thought it would 'grow' on me...instead it gets wobblier. I hope the 2005's aren't like this.

No problems with the positioning. You're right. It's great. The quality leaves me wanting to commit violence on the engineer.

I haven't had any problems out of mine but I do see how it could be broken easy.

My center dash compartmet relese clip broke though. The one below the CD player. Just a little clasp piece that is a pain in the put to replace.

All in all the 2005 interior is a big improvement over the 02-04!

I looked around and didn't see any recalls or other noted problems with the armrest. Could just be an isolated warranty issue. I'd hit the dealer for a quick fix.

I noticed that its not the most durable design, put enough pressure on it and it will probably brake, I like how the top portion pops out though

Bonzo, can I add that "flip-up door" compartment below the temperature controls to your "flimsiest piece of interior equipment" list?

I bought my 02 new and this door was popping open by itself within a few months.

I have a 2005 and my center arm rest is all wobbly and half broken. The hinges are pieces of shyt. But I do agree that the interior of the 05-06 is an upgrade. One of the managers in one of the stores I oversee has a 2004 Altima and her interior isn't as nice, im my opinion (IMO if I wanted to be a lazy dork)

Funny you guys should bring this up because my gf just caught her purse on one of the arm rest latches and broke it off. Now the arm rest keeps popping up while driving. I'll have to jimmy rig something to work with superglue now, or go to the dealership for the part if they even supply it separately. They'll probably make you buy the entire arm rest lid for a high price...

The 02 interior is a large collection of garbage materials and piss poor build quality. The arm rest is a piece of scrap, the cubby hole door is cheap, the cup holder door is a disgrace. THe door pannels are fisher price and the carpet is line none I have seen

G8? LOL yah for $30k.

I don't think the interior is as bad as it could be. Yes it is all plastic, but the cubby doors on the dash and drink holder doors work fine if you're not a discombobulated brute. 95% of the time I leave the drink door open anyways.

To update my previous posts here...I fixed the damn arm rest latch and my damn girlfriend broke it off AGAIN a week later. I think I'm going to take the spring out of it so at least it stays down. I'm beginning to agree that whoever designed that should be shot or at least given the opportunity to put one between his own eyes.
