who would support silviastore?

I'm sure most of you know what I'm doing with it. I'm making it into an online catalog for almost every part available for the silvia/240sx, and I'm having the description pages have a link to the person with the lowest price, and state what it is. This should help people from having to window shop everywhere for the lowest price and organize things better, it should also help the 240 community grow a little since I'll also have tech articles, mainly based around the rb swaps. For those that think this is a good idea and would support it by using it, let me know. If you'll use it, please put silviastore.com in your sig (when the time comes, not yet, not til its up), so let me know if you'r also willing to put that in your sig. Thanks everyone!

so your getting $10 a year from the companies to post their products....so in all reality, it most likely wouldnt have the lowest priced products, for the companies that usually offer that, already have a following, dont need the advertising, and have minimul funds available for advertising fees...

and if your getting payed, shouldnt the people who support in their sigs get paid a small fee also, whether by you, or by the companies they are supporting?

seems like they should get something out of it too, and like i said, the bigger companies, who get the highest rate discounts, and sell the most products, wouldnt necessarily want/need to be part of that site, therefor not allowing the site to have the lowest prices, right?

You are creating a conflict of interest. Though it is only $10, this still puts you in the roll of being sponsored. Are you planning on removing them from your site if you find a lower price? Even after they have payed? What if the new, lower priced source refuses to pay you $10?

I like your idea, but once you start taking money FROM the companies, you lose credibility. I would not support this site. You need to reconfigure your methods. I would have hoped that you would have seen this yourself. Perhaps you have, and you are just trying to 'pull the proverbial wool over our eyes'?

1)all companies need advertising whether they have the lowest prices or not, I know this from personal experience working with a company that could easily stomp any and every price list on ANY website right now (regarding parts for the 240 or silvia). We still need advertising

2)I'm not making any profit, this is a site to help the 240sx scene, if people want to get paid to support it, then I don't want to have anythign to do with them. At $10 a year, I will lose money, I'm just trying to not eat it too bad.

3)the site will have the lowest prices regardless, if someone has a cheaper price listed elsewhere, but doesnt want to be part of silviastore, thats fine, in order to make sure that the site still has the lowest price, ill publish their price, but not their name, so if someone wants to buy it, they can just buy it from me, we have a very good reputation.

I know your not bashing me, and we haven't had good convos in the past, but you do bring up very interesting points and I respect them, I hope I helped out any thought you had. Thanks!

PS-If worst comes to worst, I'll refund those who fund the project, and then just undercut everyone and take the business for myself, thats probably the easiest option for me, but I don't want to center **** around myself.

You'r speaking to an ex-dell technician. I know the long days of Baldur's Gate and M&M, and looking on pricewatch for ****, I used to be a large computer dork (while at work that is, I still had an outside life though, unlike most of my coworkers) I don't touch pricewatch for **** anymore, I bought a 2 new 40gig hdd at almost what I would have paid at best buy for them, and one of them died on me about 2 weeks ago (only 2-3 months old too) and I was so pissed. When I was in the process of TS I realised it had a "refurbished" sticker on it, I was SO pissed.

Well I didn't even think of that, but since you mentioned it, I'll be sure to have it. I'm going to be selling stock nissan parts, I know that much. Like 97-98 headlights, taillights, bumpers, etc.

think of it like that catologing system in the library : ), you can go to the site, click on a part, and it will direct you to the site on the internet with the best price.....atleast thats what i get from it....so its not really a company, more like a listing for parts, companies, prices, inventory, etc etc, atleast thats what im getting from him....
