I picked up a new knife last weekend, because I don't have anything decent to carry in my pocket.

Kershaw Blur. Ken Onion design with the spring assisted opening.

sharpest factory edge I've had on a knife save for the 21st Century Ka-Bar I've got.

when I get a little more baller, I might pick up a Masters of Defense.

I actually got the knife at Wal Mart for right at 60 bucks after tax...probably about as cheap as you'll find them.

their cheap china made knives aren't bad work knives.

I actually dropped mine on a concrete floor at work a while back and sheared off most of the scew heads in it though.

this one however won't be used to pry open bondo cans.

This is my work knife... I love it.

I have swords and stuff in the house, and I have a few other knives that I take with me on deployments, but this is the one I carry right next to my pistol when I leave the house on a day-to-day basis.

CRKT M-16?

not bad knives. A guy I work with got one off a Cornwell truck.

I find the handle a bit small for my hands though. Do you get an issue knife?

I'm wanting to say Army Air Assault actually got Benchmade autos.

I wish my Kershaw had a spur on the back to flip it open...but just bumping the thumb stud isn't a big deal.

No, we're not issued knives, but the plus side to that is that your seniors can't say "you can't carry that - it's not standard." And almost everyone I work with carries one. When you're out to sea, you need to cut lines and stuff, and when you're on shore duty doing patrols, you never know what you'll need it for. Could be your last line of self-defense (God forbid you lose your firearm) or you might need to cut an accident victim out of their seatbelt.

I suck at sharpening any blade.

3 bucks for a bitchin' edge is a price I'll pay.

I used to work with a guy who went to cooking school. He was a little on the fruity side, but the edge he could put on a knife was outstanding. Where do you get yours sharpened?

Bass Pro usually.

I tend to lose the knife before the edges though...

a few guys at work do good jobs as well.

Actually, a lot of guys got the Benchmade autos. Beefy arse mofos, no doubt. I have one.

My usual carry piece is either the Emerson CQC-7 or a small, all-aluminum handle Gerber. I forget the nomenclature, but it was a Ft. Benning PX special. Sometimes when I'm feeling old-school I carry the Spyderco Police Model.
